The AGECI Project in Ekiti State
FLEP recently launched the Agricultural Empowerment and Capacity Improvement (AGECI) program in Odo aiye’ dun and Ikogosi communities, Ekiti State.
This initiative is aimed to equip participants with comprehensive skills in livestock (Beehives and Tomatoes) farming, social entrepreneurship, environmental stewardship, and discipleship.
The training sessions were delivered by seasoned livestock practitioners who are resident within and around Ekiti State. The sessions were interactive and practical because it was delivered in the local dialect for deeper understanding and application by participants.
At the end of the 3 days training in each community, the results showed that participants learnt something new about livestock and appreciated the overall training content of the program.
The next phase of the project will be the resourcing of participants with Beehives and Tomatoes seedlings. Participants will also join mentoring groups for a continuous mentoring engagement throughout the project circle.
Through the AGECI project, FLEP envisions a holistic transformation in the lives of participants, empowering them to drive growth, prosperity, and positive change in their communities.
