FLEP’s Agricultural Empowerment and Capacity Improvement (AGECI) program expanded to Ichama community
FLEP’s Agricultural Empowerment and Capacity Improvement (AGECI) program has expanded to Ichama community, OKpokwu Local Government in Benue state, training 200 registered participants in:
- Livestock and crop farming (goats and cassava)
- Social entrepreneurship
- Environmental stewardship
- Discipleship
Agricultural experts within the Benue axis delivered the three-day training in Ichama local dialect (Idoma language), ensuring interactive and practical sessions. Participants gained valuable knowledge and appreciated the program’s content.
50 participants within the ages of 18 to 45 have already been resourced with Cassava stem which could be planted in one plot of land by each participant. This is necessary to continue with the process of engaging the participants immediately so they can utilize and practicalize the knowledge gained during the 3 day training.
The next phase of the project will be the resourcing of all participants with Goat and Fertilizer. Participants will also join mentoring groups for a continuous mentoring engagement throughout the project circle.
While carrying out the AGECI project in all communities (Ekiti, Benue and Jos), FLEP envisions a holistic transformation in the lives of all participants, empowering them to drive growth, prosperity, and positive change in their communities.
