FLEP Extends Agricultural Empowerment Program to Jos, Plateau State

Full Life Empowerment Program (FLEP) has expanded its Agricultural Empowerment and Capacity Improvement (AGECI) program to Jos, Plateau State. The training in Jos targeted young participants from the Child Love and Protection Advocacy Initiative (CLAPAI) Orphanage Home who are still in secondary school.

The three (3) day AGECI training in Jos, provided 22 young participants with basic skills in home gardening such as tomatoes farming which can become a source of food for consumption and for selling. The training also covered livestock farming for goats. Participants were also trained in entrepreneurship and environment.

All the 22 participants have already been resourced with goats (male and female) and Royal Bold F1 Tomato seeds (700 to 900 seeds per pack) for each individual. This is necessary so to continue with the process of engaging these young participants immediately to enable them utilize the knowledge gained during the 3 day training. This is not the end as these participants will continue to be mentored and guided in their agricultural practices , entrepreneurship and discipleship throughout the project circle for positive impact not just for them as participants but also their communities. The entire AGECI project circle in all communities will empower young minds, foster self-sufficiency, and promote community development.
